I became an End Of Life Doula because of my own personal experiences with death and dying. And I wish I had known then what I know now: How to navigate these chapters with better planning, stronger support, regaining some control over what happens to us along the way
and with more grace.
Death is not just a medical event for the body. Doulas are a bridge between the medicine and the holistic experience that is the end of this life. We are a trained
non-medical extra layer of support & knowledge for the individual, the caregivers, the family, the medical team and friends. Death Doulas are advocates and hand holders, we promote empowerment and a loving compassionate community to surround you.
If you, or someone you love, are facing a terminal diagnosis or the end of life, please know there is help out there for you. Everyone deserves all the information and support possible when facing this vulnerable time. If I'm not your cup of tea, I promise that you can find beautiful Doulas out there. I can help you with that too.
"I met Susan while my wife was battling a rare neurodegenerative disease. I have to admit I was a little skeptical, but it wasn't very long before I realized what a valuable resource our Doula would become in helping us navigate what seemed like a never-ending nightmare. As my wife's disease progressed more rapidly than we expected, Susan's support increased exponentially.
Caring for a loved one who is terminally ill can be physically and emotionally draining for everyone involved, but having someone by your side to give you guidance on how to prepare for what's to come is invaluable."
